Lego Going “Open Source”

Great interview with Lego CEO, Jrgen Vig Knudstorp by Monocle Editor-in-chief Tyler Brûlé. Mr. Knudstorp mentions that the iPod has changed the way children feel about how they should be interacting with companies and that Lego must become more “open source” in their approach to markets.

Video Review of iPhone

An extremely positive hand-on review of the iPhone from Walt Mossberg of the Wall Street Journal. On the downside, Walt predicts it will be a long time before the iPhone is available on carriers other than AT&T and the EDGE data network isn’t so hot (acording to Walt, although he does point out that the […]

Hoop It Up for only $14.95

Found the site for Stephon Marbury’s “Starbury” shoes and was impressed by the cost. $14.95 for all shoes - can this be true? If so, what is the quality?
From the press they’re getting, most folks think this is a great idea. Sounds like the might actually be decent shoes too.
I’ve been a sub-$20 shoe buyer […]

NWA Ain’t A-OK

While trying to book a multi-city flight using frequent flier miles on the Northwest Airlines web site, I received “Message 158″ which informed me my miles were insufficient and I should click on “Buy Miles” to purchase more…
Only problem is, there is no “Buy Miles” link anywhere on the page…what’s a lad to do?

Rob Mullins Quartet Featuring Guitarist Ron Eschete

Headed back to Steamers Cafe in Fullerton, CA last night after many, many months of absence. Was good to get back out and hear some live jazz.
Andrea was still working the door and sat me up front to hear pianist Rob Mullins‘ Quartet featuring Ron Eschete on 7-string guitar, Jeff Littleton on bass and Evan […]
