Headed back to Steamers Cafe in Fullerton, CA last night after many, many months of absence. Was good to get back out and hear some live jazz.
Andrea was still working the door and sat me up front to hear pianist Rob Mullins‘ Quartet featuring Ron Eschete on 7-string guitar, Jeff Littleton on bass and Evan Stone on drums.
This was the first time I’d ever seen Ron Eschete play live and was seriously impressed. He’s got a kick-back style that seriously kicks ass. He was definitely having a good time with the killer musicians on the stage with him.
Evan Stone’s group is playing there on June 27. I might have to head back for that one.
