Jerry Lynn Williams - Gone

Bill Bently, Producer Corey Scribner, Bret

My iPod just “shuffled” onto a Heavy Rotation radio show I produced in early 2006, hosted by Bill Bentley & Peter Coplan (owner of the former Heavy Rotation Records in Studio City, CA where we recorded the shows). On show #2 Bill played a track from an unreleased demo tape given to him by Jerry Williams in 1984. The song “Save Your Love” wound out the radio program and Bill told a story about Jerry Williams teaching Jimmy James (AKA Jimi Hendrix) how to sing in exchange for guitar lessons while playing with Little Richard’s band. Hearing that again sent me down a path that lead to a fabulous article by Bill Bently about Jerry Williams in the Austin Chronicle.

If you enjoy music even a little, I encourage you to read Bill’s article. As aways, he’s a wealth of musical history and positive energy. Thanks for yet another great read Bill!

Jerry Williams LP “Gone”“Bill Bentley has bought over 25 copies of Jerry Williams’ Gone for friends, each copy for under $1. He’s still trying to get it reissued on CD.” (Read the Article)

I just ordered my copy for $6.99 on eBay ;)
