What a cool idea. Kodak sends a van, equipped with high-speed photo scanners, around the country and offers to scan up to 200 of your photos (from 2 x 2 1/2″ to 8 x 10″) for only $24.99. Pretty good deal if you ask me. The Scan Van just completed a Southern California tour and is scanning its way through South Florida through the end of May 2007.

My wife just went through the tedious task of scanning about 100 family photos herself and it took an entire evening. She would definitely make a visit to the Scanvan but the Kodak web site lists only past events in Souther California. They WERE in our neighborhood–too bad I heard about this after the fact. I’m still doing some research to figure out when (or if) the Scanvan will make another stop in the Orange County area.
