Mitsutaka Uchikoshi, a 35 year old Japanese man, went missing for 24 days in the cold and survived by going into a state of hibernation. Apparently, his body temperature was only 71 degrees Fahrenheit when rescuers found him.
The BBC article stated “Scientists have for years suggested that human hibernation is possible, and could be used to slow cell death when treating fatal diseases. ” Hmmm…who’da thunk it?
