Yahoo Pipes Used To Power New Photo Site

Digahole.org officially launched today. This new site uses Yahoo Pipes to power an RSS feed from Flickr, which are then aggregated using PHP.

The site’s concept is simple:

  1. Dig a hole in the ground (or find a pre-existing hole in the ground somewhere).
  2. Snap a photo of the hole.
  3. Share your story by uploading the photo to Flickr and tagging the photo with “digahole”.

I created this site to get people (like me) off their butts and outside in the sunshine. Imagine hundreds of thousands of people all around the world sharing stories about their favorite swimming hole, a beach sandcastle’s moat, or the foundation of a new house for the Habitat for Humanity charity.

Get on digahole.org today and join the fun!
